Mr & Mrs Brown - 2.76kW
Mr. and Mrs. Brown, both in their mid-70's, live in the Somerset area.
They had Solar Photovoltaic panels installed by Your Power at the end of September, 2010, and started the Feed-in Tariff in early October.
Mr Brown says:
"From our circle of friends and acquaintances it seems clear that a large proportion of people considering photo voltaic cells are like us: Grandparents who are concerned for the environmental future of upcoming generations. However, we are also old enough to be highly suspicious of anything that sounds like a free lunch and need to be persuaded that this really is a win-win opportunity. But it's more than that. If you also include the benefits to the environment, it's actually a triple.
"Installing PV cells provides a safe investment and a regular income, generates electricity via a renewable source, and reduces damage to our fragile world.
"Even during the dark quarter of winter we have generated 334 kilowatt hour units of electricity, and now, as we move towards the longer days and if estimates for our system are met, the higher sun should result in an additional 1000 units during the next three months.
"Installing the system was not at all disruptive and we are very happy with the quality of work carried out by Your Power. In fact we had no hesitation in recommending the company and the system to friends.
"One of the reasons we chose Your Power for our installation was that their representative was very clear and straightforward on how the system functioned, what kind of returns we could expect for our investment, and properly underlined the "green" aspects of PV panels".
